. "I think, thanks to Art [he looks skyward], we give ourselves the permission to dream...because, otherwise, everything would be . . .too much . . . theoretical, and, I think, through the art of movies, paintiings, books, music [and the rest], we open the window, we open the room to really believe and trust in these failings." --from an interview with recently named Oscar-nominated actor, Javier Bardem, for his role in a Spanish-language film.

A Year in Review
Here are some pictures of things that happened recently at the Haggin Museum. Enjoy!
First, (far left) is the lunch provided to all docents in attendance for the day-long Interpretative Training led by Janet Hatano of the Oakland Museum.
Last Summer, an antique car club from the Gold Country visited the museum as a group.
Also, this young girl (above right) poses in the Lower West Gallery during an Art Adventures day in which Lisa and Janet had some "dress up" options for the children. Here is her finished costume. Wendi Maxwell (bottom right) sang Jazz with her combo on the 1st Thursday in February 2011.
