The mission of The Haggin Museum is to advance the understanding and appreciation of the fine arts and regional history for the education and enjoyment of the widest possible audience.
This is accomplished through the expansion, preservation, interpretation, and presentation of its collection.
Thanks. I saw this article while I was out of town. When very far away, it seems that the NY Times is usually available. Hooray for that. My eye was immediately drawn to this piece. I stopped to ponder my long-term idea for serving as a docent and it was this: There must be some way to elevate the thinking or the conversation with visitors so that we, as a group, reach the "next level". People respond to stories, we just have to put the blend of narrative and seeing right in front of them and voila, we have leaped together to a higher, almost magical place together. Will keep thinking about how to do that. -Jim
