Arts Education
A persuasive argument for the merits of an arts education.
I'd agree with that sentiment from the perspective of expectations. It has been shown that when you place students in an environment where you think they can handle the somewhat less rigorous work, they drop out in disinterest just as much as ever. But when you place students in a rigorous and challenging environment, one where they would not be expected to compete, something good happens. They rise up to meet the higher standards and transform themselves into higher-performance individuals. Let high standards live on!
